5 must-watch moments we want to see in Season 2 of Daryl Dixon: The Book Of Carol
March 4, 2024The Walking Dead universe has been all the rave lately with the return of Rick Grimes and Michonne’s perilous journey to find her husband and bring him home.
The highly-anticipated love story The Ones Who Live has not disappointed one bit. Sadly, there are only 4 more episodes to go and whether there will be a second season of the show is still up in the air, but fans are holding out hope on the possibility. Fortunately, for The Walking Dead franchise, fans won’t have to wait much longer for another installment.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon also dubbed The Book of Carol will be coming to our screens this summer. That means heightened excitement is yet to come. Daryl Dixon is one of the most beloved characters in the franchise, and so is fan-favorite Carol Peletier.
Together, these two will be a force to be reckoned with in Europe. Carol is of course a force of nature and Daryl is the once broken archer with the heart of gold.
There are many reasons for the success of the first season of TWD: Daryl Dixon, but it’s the vision and passion from Norman Reedus that brought new and old fans alike to the series. Now with his best friend and soulmate on board they are sure so shake up Europe in a way we’ve never seen before.
Luckily, for Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike is over. And unlike in season one they will be allowed to promote their project fully. So I look forward to Daryl Dixon: The Book Of Carol highlighted in the upcoming San Diego Comic Con.
It’s been a long time coming for both Carol and Daryl fans to get to celebrate this milestone together, after the sad departure of Melissa McBride from season one.
DON’T WORRY…
But worry no more, fans, the band is back together, and we are months away from watching Daryl and Carol take the world by storm. What makes this series so captivating to fans is really just the insanity of it. Daryl finding himself on a boat all the way across the Atlantic.
Stepping foot on the ruins of Paris and taking in all the phenomenally horrific sites. Fans were encapsulated by the history and artwork at every crossing. Watching it through the eyes of Daryl, a loner redneck from Georgia who may not even have seen all these sightings in history books.
And I believe that’s why the show garnered the success it did. Not only were we watching Daryl’s journey, but he was taking us on that journey with him. What can we expect for season 2? That is the million-dollar question. How long will it take Carol to find Daryl?
Similar to The Ones Who Live, will she even find the same man when she gets there? We already know from the teaser for season two that Daryl is questioning if he belongs in France. Wondering if anyone misses him back home. All the while, Carol is on her journey to find him. And if we know anything about Carol, there is no force in this world that is going to stop her. Here are our 5 must-haves for TWD: Daryl Dixon: The Book Of Carol:
#5. Daryl discussing dog
We have seen Daryl talk about his family with Laurent the inquisitive and compassionate messiah like boy. Ezekiel, Connie, Judith, RJ, and of course Carol have been mentioned but what about the most important of them all, Dog?
Maybe it’s painful for Daryl to admit, and it guilts him to bring up leaving him. But hopefully Dog is living the good life at Commonwealth with Judith. However, I think it would be rather therapeutic for the fans if he revealed how much he missed his four-legged companion. We all do!
#4. Daryl Dixon on a bike
This seems like a simple one, but it has been strange not seeing Daryl Dixon on his motorcycle. It’s part of what made the character so badass since season one. Though, it has also been refreshing to see Daryl Dixon out of his element. Riding horses and having to adjust to his new surroundings has been comical at best.
We have learned that Daryl Dixon is badass wherever he goes. But there is nothing quite like a sleeveless Daryl wearing his leather winged vest as the breeze flows through his long dark locks.
There’s nothing quite like the freedom that washes over his face in those moments. In time we will get to see both Carol and Daryl doing that together but the wait is such agony.
#3. How Carol gets to France
Now we saw in flashbacks how Daryl got to France, but in the premiere episode he was basically thrust from the water onto the beach and had to figure everything out on his own. I would love to see an in-depth story on exactly how Carol gets there.
We already know she’s not coming by a boat. Scott Gimple at least admitted that. Which we should be grateful for. The finale of season one showed Carol in Maine, tracking Daryl’s whereabouts. She had already found his bike and taken it.
What comes next for Carol will be must-watch television. There is no limit to what she will do for Daryl and with the talents of Melissa McBride’s acting along with the emotion of the possibility of losing Daryl along the way, watch out award season.
#2. What did Carol say on the radio to Daryl?
We know what Daryl has been up to, but what has been going on in the Commonwealth? There was a mysterious tone to Carol’s voice when Daryl called her in episode 5 of season one from Maine. Carol usually has more emotion in her voice when she speaks to Daryl, but she sounded very distant and almost ominous.
There is something going on in Carol’s world that she couldn’t say over the line. And when she started to fill Daryl in on something, the radio cut out at just the right moment. By the words, Daryl was able to hear somebody was back. Could this finally be Rick and Michonne?
It would make all the sense in the world why Carol is off to find Daryl. She would no longer have the responsibility of keeping an eye on Rick and Michonne’s kids if they are back.
Though if she knew Daryl was in trouble, there are plenty of other capable adults who can watch the children.
Because of Carol’s connection to Judith and AMC’s need to keep spoilers on the down low until The Ones Who Live is completely aired, I believe this message has to be about Rick. That makes Carol’s potential information to connect all the shows together even more fascinating.
#1. Let Daryl and Carol say what needs to be said
One of the biggest letdowns of the final season of The Walking Dead was showrunner Angela Kang’s persistence to cause dread and fighting between Carol and Daryl with no resolution attached to it. They both had to keep moving and fighting for another day. Though there was an ample amount of time to address things between the two of them.
I would prefer if they had just one big emotional confrontation and get all these bottled emotions out that are bubbling at the surface. Yes, they are best friends and soulmates. Look at that whatever way you want to. But they are also two people that struggle mightily without each other.
Carol and Daryl come from very abusive backgrounds, so it is understandable why they hold things back. Losing each other is worse for them than dying.
But as a fan of both characters, it drives me insane. We need some more growth and development between these two characters. Obviously, they are two who would move heaven and earth for each other.
Carol is crossing an entire ocean for the man. Nevertheless she still may be upset that he left in the first place after giving her so much hell about running away in the past.
Now that Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride both executive producing season two, I expect we will get much more intimacy between these characters. Everything there was no time to do in the flagship series is going to get to be played out here, and I think that makes the sky the limit for both characters.
They get to write their characters in a way they never have before. That makes the future exciting and allows for endless possibilities. The chemistry between both Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus has been astounding from the start. The universe of The Walking Dead is in very good hands with these two powerhouse performers. —
