The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 is set to premiere this fall

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 is set to premiere this fall

May 7, 2025 Off By Shay McBryde

AMC’s third installment featuring Daryl Dixon(Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier(Melissa McBride) is set to premiere as The Walking Dead was meant to this Halloween season. You couldn’t picture a better debut for a horror series. The premiere will also give fans that nostalgia of The Walking Dead of old.

In this go around the setting is Spain instead of France. While I enjoyed France there were some cliches, so I hope they don’t continue to make those same cultural mistakes for the people of Spain. This third phase feels like a natural progression of how season one should have been, with Daryl and Carol starting this journey together. For these two characters, nothing is impossible for what they can achieve in an obscure land.

What will season 3 of Daryl Dixon be about?

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 tracks Carol and Daryl as they continue their journey toward home to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.

Now that The Walking Dead universe is back in action with the season 2 premiere of Dead City the Sunday night commercials were filled with insight for the future season of the Daryl and Carol show. Things are heating up in New York but things across the Atlantic are looking a little more grim. Will Daryl and Carol ever reach the States again and get back to the Commonwealth to see Ash and Laurent again? Time will tell, but the backdrop of Spain and London provides an even bigger range of beauty.

How did Season 2 end?

Daryl and Carol had every intention of getting to England and boarding a one-way ticket back to the United States via yet another ship ride. There’s an evident struggle to find their way back as they reach another country in all its ruins. It’s likely the dynamic duo comes across another group of people who they must help and need help to reach their next destination.

When we reached the end of the journey in France it was always Daryl’s mission to get back to Laurent and be the father he never had. Especially after the loss of Isabelle, the only mother figure he’d ever had. Fortunately, there are many capable people to fill that void like Ash and Ezekiel until their impending return. However, at this stage of the game, it could be years before the most badass duo of The Walking Dead reaches home soil.

In the teaser, Daryl Dixon walks through the desert looking dehydrated and exhausted stating he was pretty young when all this started. From where they were in season one Carol and Daryl were both babies. All of the main cast was.

Daryl also came from an abusive past that aided in stunting his growth. Throughout the years he learned from role models like Hershel and Rick. Those intimate bonds are what created the man before us today. And then there’s Carol who in my opinion is the most-developed character of The Walking Dead. As strong and resilient as they both are they are tired of going from one fight to the next.

On to the next journey of Daryl and Carol

“Now all we do is run and fight. It ain’t no way to live.” During this commentary by Daryl Dixon Carol and Daryl can be seen with Stephen Merchant in a boat about to cross the desolate-looking Tower Bridge. Merchant plays an unnamed survivor who potentially meets the duo in London. His fate and even past are not known at this point, but it will be thrilling to see such a seasoned actor in the series.

In the final moments of the teaser, Daryl can be seen on a bike with a rifle against another survivor. They are going head to head like a modern-day medieval jousting. Now Daryl is the lead male of the series so it’s highly unlikely any travesty happens, but it’s a cool state we haven’t seen before. Who is the other man? And what has Dixon done to get himself in trouble this time? Also, where is Carol in this instance?

Who else will be joining Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus?

In addition to the great Stephen Merchant, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Candela Saitta, and Hugo Arbués will be joining the cast in recurring roles. Along with the recurring cast of the great Norman Reedus and the sensation of Melissa McBride.

In the teaser six months ago it shows Daryl tracking through the desert once again. In the end, revealing a pretty intimate moment between Daryl and Carol that could mean romance or simply an affectionate moment after a trying ordeal. It does look like Carol stays back in some Spanish town to heal while Daryl goes on some sort of mission. Either for the people or to show their worth while Carol rests.

Everyone knows by now Melissa McBride was unable to start the first season due to untenable circumstances. However now, it seems things are back on track and I don’t see any more uphill battles for the future. Season 3 is coming back in full force and we are all excited to see the Queen and King of the universe return for act three.

You can currently watch Dead City season 2 on AMC and AMC Plus. New episodes are released every Sunday in an 8-episode season. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon returns this fall on AMC.
